Working with Lisa completely changed the way I approached my college essays. Before working with her, my writing was safe, full of surface-level ideas. Lisa was always a phone call away and pushed me to stay organized and work harder in a way that was demanding but respectful. Her edits and revisions were extremely thoughtful, specific, and honest. She had an ability to help me shape a distinct, unique narrative and hold me accountable for supporting it with precise details and reflection. By the end of the process, it had become instinctual for my writing to show rather than tell, digging into the “why” behind every experience instead of just the “what.” I am truly grateful I got to work with her.

Lisa was incredibly helpful to me in preparing for my college interviews. She posed key questions that interviewers typically asked, and helped me respond in a way that allowed me to highlight my most significant accomplishments. I was also able to take part in a mock interview with Lisa, which not only helped me navigate what I wanted to present myself as, but she also made me feel a lot more comfortable. Looking back, I felt like this experience was one of the most important parts of my college preparation, as I felt very well prepared for my future college interviews.

Lisa was such a resource to my daughter in her college application process. She helped her think through and prioritize what she was looking for in her college experience and how to structure summer opportunities that would build relevant experience in the field she was pursuing.  And once the time to apply rolled around she worked with my daughter on her application and refining her interview skills through mock interviews.  After working with Lisa, my daughter was able to present all the things she had achieved in a really engaging manner and I believe that was key to getting her into her first choice college!

It was truly delightful to work with Lisa. She was extremely helpful in guiding me through the college application process, and possessed detailed knowledge and specific tips about admissions for the universities I was interested in. She was extremely thorough and organised; for example, before starting my personal statement, she truly tried to gain a sense of who I was, and pinpoint the characteristics I needed to put forward in the essay (through both worksheets and oral discussions). I would also consistently receive both written and oral feedback on my work, in a very structured and timely manner.
